COVID-19 jab incentives welcomed

Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan today said the Government would welcome incentives offered by corporations that can motivate people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.   While meeting the media after attending a radio programme this morning, Prof Chan was asked about a developer’s move to offer a flat for lucky draw by people who have received the jab.   The health chief emphasised that vaccination is an important intervention to control and prevent the epidemic situation.   “This is really something we should focus on, especially at this stage of our epidemic situation. It seems that from a number of surveys, there are people who are in the process of wait and see, that is they are probably contemplating whether they are going to get vaccinated or not, and haven't taken any action.   “In this regard, any intervention that is able to motivate people, the Government actually welcomes."   She added that COVID-19 vaccine incentives by more corporations and all employers are welcome as they help move people from thinking to actually taking action.
