9 COVID-19 cases reported

(To watch the full press briefing with sign language interpretation, click here.)   The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating nine additional COVID-19 cases, of which four are locally transmitted.   Among the local cases, three have unknown sources of infection including a baker who works in Tuen Mun.   At a press briefing this afternoon, the centre's Principal Medical & Health Officer Dr Albert Au said if people who visited the Balencia cake shop at YATA Supermarket in V city have any concerns, they should undergo testing.   Dr Au also pointed out that the baker usually had no direct contact with the customers.   “The name of the cake shop is Balencia and the male patient had onset of illness on February 13 and his last day of work was also on the same day.   “According to our investigation, he mainly worked inside the kitchen making bread, so he normally had no direct contact with the customers. We have classified all co-workers of this bakery as close contacts and will arrange for them to be sent to the quarantine centre.   “However, if any customers who visited this bakery since February 11 have concerns, they are encouraged to undergo testing.”   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government's dedicated webpage.
